Abstract

A closure to discussion of the aforementioned article, published in this journal (Volume 10, No. 2, March/April 2005) is presented. The original author disagrees with the discusser's comments on pedestrian-induced lateral vibrations on footbridges, and stands by his original model and assertion that lateral vibrations can be reduced by increasing vertical damping.
