Abstract

Purpose: Contemporary soft toric contact lenses (TCLs) demonstrate good clinical performance to help eye care professionals (ECPs) meet astigmatic wearer needs, especially for vision. While TCL prescribing increases, global variation in fitting (e.g. Japan 17%, Spain 25% vs. global avg. 27%, Morgan 2021) compared to astigmatism prevalence (40%, Hashemi 2018) highlights a gap, suggesting an unresolved need in what ECPs believe about TCL performance. Global ECP research was conducted to understand these differences.
