Abstract

I've never had a day when I have sat feeling so much involved in all that has taken place and this has made it very hard for me to get myself out of it sufficiently to provide a commentary or closing remarks. I can't help making one comment though. I have never been at a social work conference, or a conference which is predominantly of social workers, where the audience has sat all day and has not once said, “Can't we divide into groups?”! It says something… I think there are probably good reasons why this particular format took place, that J think we have to look at when we are deciding what was the purpose of today.
