Abstract

This paper proposes a thorough closed-loop control design guideline for a new multi-input, multi-output DC/DC converter that is capable of integrating various types of power supplies and loads in DC microgrids. The operational characteristics of the studied DC/DC converter are analyzed, and subsequently the small signal model of the generalized <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$N$</tex> -input, <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$M$</tex> -output converter is derived. Then, the system transfer function is developed. Based on this, a closed-loop PI control design guideline is presented. Simulation results of a three-input three-output DC/DC converter are presented to verify the efficacy of the proposed control design method.
