Abstract

Numerical modeling of cylindrically multilayered structures can be efficiently and rigorously performed by employing the method of moments (MoM) in the spatial domain. Thus the idea of closed form spatial domain Green's functions was proposed and many fruitful results were obtained for the planarly layered media. As for cylindrically layered media, the closed form Green's functions in spatial domain were reported in Tokgoz and Dural (2000), where the closed form spatial domain Green's functions due to z- and /spl phi/-oriented electrical and magnetic sources have been obtained using the generalized pencil of function (GPOF) method. This paper presents closed form Green's functions in the spatial domain due to a /spl rho/-oriented electrical source embedded in cylindrically layered media. Spectral domain Green's functions are given and some numerical examples of the closed form Green's functions are presented for a three layered cylinder; the approximate Green's functions are compared with the exact Green's functions obtained by the numerical evaluation of the corresponding integrals.
