Abstract

Outage probability computation is investigated for the Nakagami/Rician and Rician/Nakagami fading combinations under the assumption of independent identical distributed interferers. We show that with the consideration of both a minimum carrier-to-interference ratio and a minimum carrier-to-noise ratio, closed-form expressions can still be obtained in these two particular scenarios if the Nakagami parameter is restricted to integer values. These expressions are given in terms of the Marcum Q-function and modified Bessel functions, and therefore readily allow numerical evaluation for various cases of practical interest. When applicable, the results obtained as special cases of the offered closed-form expressions have been compared to those previously reported in the literature. Some numerical examples have been provided and discussed.
