Abstract

The authors review methods of increasing magnification, uses of light boxes and backlighting, ways to photograph flat surfaces of irregular objects, techniques to avoid specular reflections on small objects, approaches to photographing objects close-up with flash, and use of scanning light photomicrography to maintain focus with high magnification. Problems of color distortion in close-up photography are also addressed.
