Abstract

OBJECTIVE: Clomiphene citrate (CC) and Chinese herbs have been widely used in treating polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) in China. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) point of view, certain herbs promote blood circulation and enforce body functions especially the function of reproductive system. According to TCM herbal categorization, Ying Yang Huo (Herba Epimedii), Shu Di Huang (Steamed Radix Rehmanniae), Ban Xia (Rhizoma Pinelliae), Dan Shen (Radix et Rhizoma Salviae Miltiorrhizae) and other herbs with similar functions were selected for the treatment.
