Abstract

Sexual abuse remains a delicate topic on the clinical level. Many professionals, when confronted with situations of abuse, become pivotal between assistance, care and protection of the child victim. But how can such responsibilities be faced while remaining neutral, lucid and objective? Based on a case report, the author exposes the parameters to be considered to support a rigorous evaluation. A deeper look is taken at the legitimacy of a child's allegations, as well as the concepts of truth and falsehood in this age category.
