Abstract

Pascal Roman, Clinical work on splitting using the projective method. Violence and loss during adolescence. The concept of splitting is treated here by way of projective clinical techniques which refer to adolescent protocols (Rorschach and TAT). The question of splitting is first discussed on a theoretical level based on a certain number of studies (S. Freud, M. Klein, C. Chabert) which make it possible to define the recourse to splitting as a modality of non-symbolic bonding (R. Roussillon). In reference to the methodological propositions whose specificity is to define the different modalities and expressive forms of splitting (splitting of the Ego, object splitting), the author proposes to indicate signs upon which it seems possible to base oneself so as to spot indications of splitting in projective protocols and also to specifiy the adjustments which are particular to splitting during adolescence, situated along the lines of depression and of perversion. Key words : Splitting - Rorschach - TAT - Adolescence - Violence.
