Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical pathological features of malignant epithelial neoplasm. Methods The clinicopathological data of 13 patients with malignant epithelial mesothelioma were retrospectively analyzed and the literatures were reviewed. Results There were 13 patients with malignant epithelial mesothelioma, 7 cases of males and 6 cases of females, with 30 to 83 years of age, with a median age at 54 years. The main phenotypes of immunohistochemistry: AE1/AE3+ , vimentin+ , Calretinin+ , CK5/6+ , D2-40+ , WT-1+ , TTF-1-, CK7-. Conclusions Malignant mesothelioma is a highly malignant tumor, which is rare, with poor prognosis and easily misdiagnosed. The clinical features are not specific and the pathological tissue form is complex and diverse. The diagnosis needs clinicopathology, immunohistochemistry and the differentiation from of related diseases.
