Abstract
Study of 74 colorectal cancers with synchronous liver metastasis out of 820 colorectal cancers resected in our institute was performed to evaluate their clinicopathological findings. There was no relationship between liver metastasis and age, sex, location of tumor, and histological type of tumor. Cases of macroscopic type-1 and type-2 and cases with invasion but not penetrating the muscularis propria had no liver metastasis. The circumference rate with tumor involving of the bowel lumen with liver metastasis was significantly higher than that without liver metastasis. In lymph node involvement, lymph vessel invasion, venous invasion, and peritoneal disseminating metastasis, their negative cases had lower liver metastatic rate than positive cases. Nuclear DNA ploidy pattern of the primary tumors had no relation to the incidence of liver metastasis.
