Abstract

Peripheral neuropathy (PN) is one of the most prevalent neurologic complications of HIV infection and frequently inadequately treated in resource-limited settings. Despite substantial improvements in the general health of HIV-infected patients throughout HAART, PN continues to be a crucial aspect of patients' morbidity due to its severe impact on their quality of life. More than two-thirds of HIV patients may have an abnormality in electrophysiology study before their symptoms occurred. Hence, understanding the abnormality in electrophysiology study in HIV patients and the association with risk factors and degree of PN is imperative.
