Abstract

An ailing male dog was presented for treatment in the Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex Anjora, Durg, Chhattisgarh with the history of vomiting, polyuria, hematuria and anorexia. The blood and urinalysis revealed elevated BUN and creatinine levels and urine microscopy showed moderate hematuria. On necropsy, the visceral organs were found pale along with enlarged and misshapen kidneys. Microscopically, kidney showed degenerative changes characterized by cellular swelling of tubular epithelium, loss of brush border, dilatation of the tubules, desquamation of tubular epithelium and presence of eosinophilic material along with mild fibrosis around the degenerated tubules.
