Abstract

Purpose: Suprascapular nerve block (SSNB) injections are used in the management of chronic shoulder pain, including degenerative glenohumeral joint disease, subacromial pain, frozen shoulder and non-specific shoulder pain, however little is known about its use and application in clinical practice in the United Kingdom. This preliminary study explored the experiences and views of clinicians who use SSNB injections for the non-surgical management of shoulder pain. The main objectives were to gain an in-depth understanding regarding the current use and application of SSNB injections in clinical practice and identify where future research is needed to inform clinical practice in the future.
