Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical value of superselective arterial embolization on gynecological acute uterine hemorrhage disease. Methods Percutaneous femoral artery catheterization and uterine artery embolization were performed in 18 patients with gynecological acute uterine hemorrhage diseases in Boai hospital from October 2008 to October 2011.Results The massive vaginal bleeding stopped after operation immediately, the immediate hemostatic rate was 100%,with or without fewer vaginal bleeding.Only some minor complications such as low-grade fever, mild abdominal and hip pain were ocurred. Conclusions Superselective arterial embolization for the treatment of gynecological acute uterine hemorrhage diseases is safe and effective which has the advantages of minimal trauma, fast homeostasis, less complication.Meanwhile, the patients can accept interventional chemotherapy, which effectively enhance the local drug concentration and prolong drug duration of action and reduce systemic adverse reactions of chemotherapy drugs. It can be deserving the clinical application as a minimally invasive treatment of uterine hemorrhage diseases.
