Abstract

Obstetric hemorrhage is the leading cause of maternal mortality worldwide. There are emerging risk assessment tools with labor factors to guide prenatal pre-transfusion testing. In this study, we describe a dynamic risk assessment tool that includes antepartum and intrapartum risk factors, and assess its efficacy in predicting obstetric hemorrhage and hemorrhage requiring transfusion in an urban safety-net hospital.
