Abstract

Objectives: To describe clinical, subclinical characteristics, PRESS scale of pneumonia from 2 months to 5 years old. Methods and material: A cross-sectional description of clinical, subclinical characteristics, PRESS scale of pneumonia of children from 2 months to 5 years of age, treated at the Pediatric Center, Hue Central Hospital from May 4/2018 to 7/2019. Results: PRESS Scale: tachypnea of 63.9%, use of auxiliary respiratory muscles 40.1%, SpO2 ≥ 95% 85.1% accounting for the high rate, wheezing accounting for 21.3%, and feeding difficulties accounted for 16,3%. Mean PRESS scores for pneumonia and severe pneumonia were respectively 1.28 ± 0.919 and 4.21 ± 0.696. There was no correlation between the value of PRESS scale with fever, leukocyte count, neutrophile ratio, serum CRP concentration. There is a correlation between the PRESS scale value with convulsions, severity of pneumonia. Conclusion: There is a correlation between the value of PRESS scale and the severity of pneumonia with p <0.05.
