Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of intravitreal injection of anti vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) drugs on choroidal neovascularization. Methods A total of 61 patients (61 eyes) with choroidal neovascularization were randomly divided into two groups. The control group (30 cases) received photodynamic therapy, and the observation group (31 cases) received intravitreal injection of anti VEGF drugs on the basis of the control group. The clinical efficacy, the best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), the macular central thickness (CMT) and the visual field average sensitivity of the two groups were observed and compared, and the occurrence of complications in the two groups was counted. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was [93.55% (29/31)] was higher than that of the control group [70.00% (21/30), P 0.05). Conclusions Intravitreal injection of anti VEGF drug is effective and safe in the treatment of choroidal neovascularization. It can improve the CMT and the best corrected visual acuity, and the average visual field sensitivity. Key words: Choroidal neovascularization; Intravitreal injection; Anti VEGF drug; Best corrected visual acuity; Macular central macular thickness
