Abstract

Background: Le Fort I osteotomy is useful for the transverse or horizontal repositioning of the maxilla, the collection of occulusal cant or open bite. Segmental maxillary osteotomies enable posterior repositioning of the anterior segment, collection of the discrepancy of the dental arch, tooth axis, and occulusal relationship. However, there are complications such as blood loss, devitalization of teeth, necrosis of the maxilla, and oronasal communication following segmental osteotomy. In the current study, we have evaluated the indication of multiple segmental Le Fort I osteotomy.
