Abstract

Clinical data of 178 patients of Kawasaki Disease who were seen Gunma Children Medical Center from July 1, 1982 to November 31, 1982 were reviewed. Physical examination, chest roentgenogram, ECG and two-dimensional echocardiography were obtained on all patients.32 patients underwent cardiac catheterization and angiographic study and 15 (47%) of them were noted to have a coronary arterial lesion, and 12 (38%) of them to have a coronary aneurysm. In terms of non-invasive diagnostic procedures, two-dimensinal echocardiography was found to be the most sensitive method. Thallium-201 myocardial imaging and treadmill exercise test may be usefull to find and to follow ischemic myocardial lesion of Kawasaki Disease. As a result to be reviewed, all the patients of Kawasaki Disease should be followed up cautiously, however, we do not have to keep them within limits and not to make them anxious unnecessarily.
