Abstract
The incidence of venous complications was studied under comparable conditions in 330 patients receiving Althesin 50 μl/kg and compared with previously reported data from thiopentone, methohexitone and propanidid. There was no difference between the effects of Althesin, thiopentone 2.5% and methohexitone 1.0%. Overall sequelae were less with the new steroid than either 5% propanidid or the more concentrated barbiturate solutions.
