Abstract
Patients with chronic unexplained GI symptoms often present for evaluation of a mast cell (MC) disorder. Current criteria suggest MC counts >20 /high power field (hpf) in colon biopsies differentiate MC enterocolitis from non-MC gastrointestinal disorders. We hypothesize using clinical and laboratory characteristics will identify a more accurate MC cut-point for MC enterocolitis diagnosis.
