Abstract

Purpose: To discuss the clinical value of qi-inducing acupuncture manipulation in the treatment of acute lumbar sprain. Method: Sixty patients were randomly and single-blindly divided into two groups. There were 30 cases in observation group, after arrival of qi, qi-inducing manipulation was performed; there were 30 cases in control group, after arrival of qi with routine needling method, needles were retained for 20 min. The curative effect was evaluated after 3 days. Results: The cure rate was 86.7% in observation group and 43.3% in control group. The cure rate of observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.01). Conclusion: Qi-inducing acupuncture manipulation was a better manipulation in treating acute lumbar sprain.
