Abstract
This chapter contains material from the original work on Clinical Reasoning by Vivyan Alers and with permission is quoted from the book Crouch, R.B. and Alers, V.M. (2014). Occupational Therapy in Psychiatry and mental Health, 5e. Oxford: Wiley & Blackwell. There is an attempt to bring the important concepts of clinical reasoning and critical thinking into the arena of occupational group therapy and to demonstrate the importance of these concepts in this type of intervention. The concept of ethical reasoning with particular reference to group leadership is also addressed in this chapter.
