Abstract

A number of studies have already been reported on the arterial blood gas partial pressures and pH. Also at the department to which the author belongs to, Saheki has made a study of clinical pathophysiological study of the arterial blood gas partial pressures and pH in various diseases. And although these studies have been available on the venous blood gas partial pressures and pH of coronary vein or of cerebrel vein only, yet no comparetive study has been made of the venous blood gas partial pressures and pH of other organs at the same time. Hence, in an attempt to comparatively examine the specific properties of gas metabolism of organs, the author determined the venous blood gas partial pressure and pH of brain, myocardium, liver, and kidneys.
