Abstract
Objective To investigate the treatment for eyes burned by hydrofluoric acid.Methods 15 cases( 28 eyes) with hydrofluoric acid bum were enrolled in the study.Treatments included irrigation,paracentesis,subconjunctival autoserum,autoserous eyedrop and anti-infection.Vision and complications were recorded.Results Follow-up period was 6 - 24 months.No irrigating symptoms were observed.28 eyes had cloudy corneas,8 of which are leukoma and 20 of which are nebula.Complicated cataract was found in 6 eyes.Main reason for blurred vision is corneal opacity.Posttreatment visions were band movement to -0.1 in 3 eyes,0.2-0.3 in4 eyes,0.4-0.6in5 eyes,0.7-0.8 in 12 eyes and0.9-1.5 in4 eyes.Conclusion It could retain good visual function through active treatment for eyes burned by hydrofluoric acid.
