Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of PDCA circular pain management in patients with spasmodic pain after transurethral resection of prostate. Methods A total of 86 cases of spasmodic pain of bladder after transurethral resection of prostate in urology department of this hospital from June 2015 to October 2016 were selected as the research objects.According to the sequence of admission, the patients were divided into the control group and the observation group, 43 cases of each group. The control group was given routine nursing care. The observation group was treated with PDCA cycle pain nursing management. The analgesic indexes, postoperative recovery and nursing overall satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results The duration of pain, the number of spastic pain, the bladder pressure and the visual analogue score of the observation group were lower than those of the control group at 12 hours to 60 hours after operation, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). In the observation group, the time of catheter removal, urinary clearance, analgesic fluid usage, length of stay, bladder continuous flushing and urinary catheter indwelling were all lower than the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05). The overall satisfaction of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusions The application of PDCA circular pain nursing management in patients with spasmodic pain after transurethral prostatectomy can alleviate postoperative pain, promote postoperative recovery, and improve the general nursing satisfaction, which is worthy of clinical application. Key words: PDCA cycle pain nursing management; Transurethral resection of the prostate; Bladder spastic pain; Clinical effect
