Abstract

Objective To compare the effect of sertraline combined with cognitive behavior therapy in patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder. Methods One hundred and eight patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder according with ICD-10 diagnostic criteria were randomly divtded into the therapeutic group(n=54) and the control group(n=54) and were treated for 8 weeks.The therapeutic group was given sertraline combined cognitive behavior therapy and the control group were given sertraline only. The clinical effect was assessed with the Yale-Brown Obsessive Compulsive Scale(Y-BOCS) and Hamilton A nxiety Scale(HAMA), adverse events were assessed by the Treatment Emergent Symptom Scale(TESS). Results At the end of 2, 4, 6, 8 weeks, the therapeutic efficacy of the therapy group was better than the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01). Conclusions Compared with single sertraline therapy, sertraline combined with cognitive behavior therapy has a guick therapeatic, effect, good curative effect and similar security.
