Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical application and efficacy of new lacrimal drainage tube in the treatment of lacrimal duct occlusion.Methods It was a retrospective case series study.33 patients (37 eyes) were enrolled in the study with 7 male cases (7 eyes) and 26 female cases (30 eyes).The ages ranged from 20 to 63 years with an average (43 ± 5) years old.11 cases(11 eyes) were simple nasolacrimal duct stenosis and obstruction,22 cases (26 eyes) were nasolacrimal duct obstruction combined with chronic dacryocystitis.The course ranged from 3 months to 12 years.The new type of lacrimal drainage tubes were implanted.Results The tubes were placed successfully in all patients with a small amount of bleeding in 5 cases.There were no obvious discomfort and other complications in other cases.Postoperative follow-up time ranged from 11 to 16 months.26 eyes were cured,6 eyes were effective,the total effective rate was 86.49%.Conclusion This new lacrimal drainage tube is safe,easy to operate with good clinical effect in the treatment of lacrimal duct occlusion.
