Abstract

[Objective]To study the method and the effect of mild hypothermia in treatment of patients with severe head injury.[Methods]One hundred and six cases of severe head injury were randomly divided into the hypothermic group and control group.Patients in mild hypothermia group received mild hypothermic treatment,patients in control group received conventional therapy.The treatment effects of patients were evaluated with GCS score,the intracranial pressure and blood glucose levels were monitored.[Results]Compared with the control group,the intracranial pressure of mild hypothermia group reduced significantly,and blood glucose level decreased significantly,mortality reduced significantly,and prognosis improved obviously.[Conclusions]The mild hypothermia therapy can reduce the secondary damage of brain tissue,and improve the prognosis of patients,is a safe and effective treatment measure.
