Abstract
Objective To observe the efficacy and complication of implantable contact lens (ICL) implantation in treatment of high myopia. Methods 89 cases(114 eyes) diagnosed as high myopia were treated with ICL implantatioin.Uncorrected visual acuity, best corrected visual acuity, refraction, anterior chamber depth, ocular axial length, corneal endothelial cell density and intraocular pressure were observed. Results After 12 months of observation, the uncorrected visual acuity, best corrected visual acuity and refraction were significantly better than the preoperative one (P < 0.05).While at the aspect of anterior chamber depth, ocular axial length and corneal endothelial cell density, there was no significant change (P >0.05).Except for one case of transient high intraocular pressure, the patients had no complications of cataract, glaucoma or pigment dispersion. Conclusion ICL implantation used in treatment in high myopia shows characteristics of predictability, security, stability, reversible and significant effect.
