Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of calamine lotion on perianal therapy in elderly patients with rectal cancer. Methods One-hundred and one patients with low rectal cancer were randomly divided into two groups. Fifty cases of the control group were given conventional cleaning after defecation, for maintaining the perianal skin dry. Fifty-one cases of observation group were given the conventional treatment based on the external use of calamine lotion, and to observe the clinical effect of the two groups. Results After treated with calamine lotion. Thirty-two cases were markedly effective and 17 cases were effective, ineffective in 2. The effective rate was 96.07%, and the control group was markedly effective in 9 cases, effective in 20 cases and ineffective in 21 cases. There was significant difference between the two groups (Χ2=20.81, P<0.05). Conclusion The effect of calamine lotion on the perianal application of low rectal cancer in elderly patients with rectal cancer is significant.
