Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of secondary orbital hydroxyapatite (HA) implant combined with conjunctival sac plasty.Methods Ten eyes of 10 patients were suffered from shallow lower fornix and ectropion that caused by long-period wearing of thick and heavy artificial eye.The secondary HA implantation combined with the reconstruction of lower fomix was conducted.Results For 6 patients with mild shallow lower fornix and mild extropion,HA implantation and lower fornix reconstruction with buried suture were operated; For 4 patients with mild shallow lower fornix and moderate ectropion,the HA implantation,lower fornix reconstruction with buried suture,and V-type shortening of full-thickness lower eyelid were operated.The 2 ~ 12 month follow-up of these patients were good.Conclusion The clinical effect of secondary orbital hydroxyapatite(HA) implant combined with conjunctival sac plasty is good..
