Abstract

Background: Clinical implication of post-capillary pulmonary hypertension (PH) in patients with left heart disease still remains to be clarified. Methods: We examined 1,077 consecutive CHF patients who underwent right heart catheterization from 2000 to 2010. Among them, 33 had post-capillary reactive PH (transpulmonary pressure gradient12>mmHg) and 108 post-capillary passive PH (<12 mmHg). They were followed-up for a mean period of 1,093 days.
