Abstract
Objective To summarize the cause,clinical features,diagnosis and treatment of orbitalhematoma.Methods We retrospective analyzed 65 cases(65 eyes) of orbital hematoma with completecase information in the No.2 Hospital of TianjinMedical University during Dec,1989 to Dec,2008..Results There were 37 males and 30 females,aged from 7 monthsto 69 years,31 cases in right eye and 34 cases inlefi eye.The clinical course was from 1 hour to 3 years.With trauma history in 17 cases,45 cases without aclear incentive,2 cases with fatigue,vomiting in 1 case. B-ultrasonography scanning(62 cases),CT(57 cases),MRI(18 cases).Surgery was performed in 20 cases,including 15 cases of whole anesthesia and 5 cases of local anesthesia.The pathology showed venous hemangioma(3 cases),hematoma(5 cases),hematiccsyt(7 cases),venous malformation(1 case),lymphangioma(2 cases),intermal bleeding,blood clots in muscle and adipose tissue(2 cases).19 cases had undergone needle aspiration through the skin hemal fluid obtained with a volume of 0.1 ml～7 ml.Conservative treatment was done in 10 cases and without any treatment in 16 cases.Conclusions Iconological methods tire indispensable for the diagnosis of orbital hematoma.and local needle aspiration,surgery are still the main treatments.
