Abstract

I read the excellent article “the effect of clinical history on diagnostic imaging interpretation – a systematic review” by Yapp, Brennan, and Ekpo in this issue of Acad Radiol with great interest (1).The effect of clinical history on radiological accuracy is an extremely significant topic and is often debated by imaging professionals and referring physicians alike, as its quality can have a profound effect on the diagnostic accuracy of all of the modalities used in medical imaging. It is a wise general practice for radiologists across the world to use clinical history presented in a request form to aid in constructing a diagnostic report.
