Abstract
This article explores the use of silver in the management of wound infection and odour from a clinical governance perspective. It relates issues of risk assessment and management, clinical effectiveness and evidence-based care, clinical audit and quality assurance to the care of patients with or at risk of a wound infection. A case study is included on the use of Actisorb Silver 220 in the management of a leg ulcer patient.
