Purulent cellulitis can further be distinguished by the formation of a cutaneous abscess, a walled accumulation of pus within the subcutaneous space that requires surgical management.1 Guidelines for clinical evaluation and management are limited especially for children.1-4 This study assesses the characteristics of inpatient pediatric cellulitis without abscess.
