Abstract

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is one of the major causes of adolescent hyperandrogenism and menstrual disorders. Because there is no universal definition for adolescent PCOS, we recommend four out of five criteria: clinical and biologic evidence of hyperandrogenism, hyperinsulinism, oligo-/amenorrhea, and polycystic ovaries on ultrasonography.
