Abstract

Rationale: A new indirect calorimetry (IC) device (Q-NRG®) was recently developed to meet clinicians’ specifications to facilitate the use of IC in clinical practice. After validation against mass spectrometry [1] and comparison with currently available devices in mechanically ventilated ICU patients [2], this study aims at evaluating its ease of use, stability and feasibility of measurements in canopy mode.
