Abstract

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of narrow band ultraviolet B (NB-UVB) irradiation combined with compound glycyrrhizin capsules and compound flumetasone ointment on pityriasis rosea. Methods Seventy-four patients with pityriasis rosea were randomly divided into two groups,38 patients in trrial group were treated with narrow band ultraviolet B irradiation combined with compound glycyrrhizin capsules and compound flumetasone ointment, and 36 patients in control group were treated with narrow band ultraviolet B irradiation combined compound glycyrrhizin capsules. The treatment course was 3weeks for both groups.Symptoms and physical signs were objectively scored between the two groups before and 1,2,3 weeks after treatment. The curative effect and adverse reactions were recorded at the end of treatment. Results After 3weeks,integral of symptoms and signs in the treatment group was 0.82 ± 1.63,and it was 2.02 ± 1.58 in control group, there was significant difference in efficacy between the two groups (P < 0.05).The effective rate in the treatment group and the control group was respectively 94.7% and 88.9%,there was significant difference in efficacy between the two groups(P <0.05).There were no obvious adverse reaction in the two groups. Conclusions Narrow band ultraviolet B irradiation combined with compound glycyrrhizin capsules and compound flumetasone ointment is an effective and safe method in the treatment of pityriasis rosea.
