Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of peripheral iridectomy through scleral tunnel incision for glaucoma.Methods The peripheral iridectomy through scleral tunnel incision had been performed on 108 eyes of 68 cases diagnosed as remission phase of acute angle closure glaucoma,narrow angle and shallow anterior chamber or early stage of chronic angle closure glaucoma.The perioperative and postoperative complications and surgical effect were observed.Results The visual acuities of 108 eyes of 68 cases had no significant differences before and after surgeries.The intraocular pressure had been controlled satisfactorily during 3 ~ 5 years follow-up.Conclusion The peripheral iridectomy through scleral tunnel incision is safe,effective and easy to operate with little damage,light postoperative reactions and few surgical complications.
