Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of montelukast sodium tablets combined with BiPAP respirator in treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases(COPD) overlap syndrome. Methods A total of 120 patients with asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease overlap syndrome were chosen, and were divided into the montelukast sodium group and the respirator group according to the random number table.the control group received BiPAP respirator, All patients received routine treatment.60 patients in the montelukast sodium group were treated with montelukast sodium and respirator, and 60 patients in the respirator group were treated with respiratory therapist assisted by BiPAP respirator.Compared the tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and C-reactive protein (CRP), pH, PaO2, PaCO2, SEF, TDB, SLT90%, FEV1%, FEV1/FVC, MVV and complicatioin of the two groups. Results After therapy, the levels of TNF-α, IL-6 and CRP in the montelukast sodium group were lower than those in the respirator group(P 0.05). The level of PaO2 in the montelukast sodium group was higher than that in the respirator group, the level of PaCO2 in the montelukast sodium group was lower than that of the respirator group(P<0.05). The level of SEF, FEV1%、FEV1/FVC、MVV in the montelukast sodium group were higher than those in the respirator group, the level of TDB、SLT90% in the montelukast sodium group were lower than those in the respirator group(P<0.05). There were without complications. Conclusion Montelukast sodium tablets combined with BiPAP respirator had a good effect in asthma and COPD overlap syndrome patients, it is worthy of wider promotion and application. Key words: Montelukast sodium; Respirator; Asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases; Overlap syndrome
