Abstract
Objective: To investigate the safety and efficacy of combination therapy with ethanol+foam sclerotherapy+bleomycin A5+ medical elastic sleeve for venous malformation in children. Methods: During the period of June 2013 to June 2016, a total of 188 children with venous malformations in Hebei Children’s Hospital were selected and divided into four types according to puig’s classification, such as type Ⅰ 48 cases, type Ⅱ 58 cases, type Ⅲ 52 cases and type Ⅳ 30 cases, and the patients were treated with combination therapy of ethanol, foam sclerotherapy, bleomycin A5 and medical elastic sleeve. The treatment results and complications were recorded and evaluated after one month. Results: The 188 children were averagely treated for three times, among which 98 cases were cured, 70 cases were improved, 20 cases were validly controlled, 13 cases had postoperative pain, and 3 cases had postoperative rupture. The adverse reaction rate was 8.5% (16/188) . Conclusion: Combination therapy of ethanol+ foam sclerotherapy+ bleomycin A5+medical elastic sleeve for venous malformation is an effective and safe therapy.
