Abstract

Objective To explore the clinical effects of nursing interventions on elderly patients with diabetes and its influence on blood sugar and patients' quality of life. Methods Totally 223 cases of elderly patients with diabetes were randomly divided into observation group (n=114) and control group (n=109). The observation group were given comprehensive nursing intervention, while the control group received general nursing intervention. The changes of blood glucose, related behavior and quality of life of the two groups after intervention were observed. Results Two groups of patients had lower levels of HbA1c, FBG and P2hBG after intervention, and there was statistical significance (P<0.05); the HbA1c, FBG and P2hBG of the observation group were significantly lower than that of the control group after intervention, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05); more patients in both groups conducted reasonable diet, routine life, regular review and followed the doctor's instruction than that before the intervention, and with more patients in the observation group than the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05); the scores of substance function, social function, mental function and physical function of the two groups after intervention were both higher than that before intervention, and the score of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Nursing intervention has a remarkable clinical effect on elderly patients with diabetes, can significantly reduce the patients' blood sugar, and improve the patients quality of life.It has important significance in clinical application.
