Abstract

Objective To analyze the effect of phacomulsification on mild cataract and its effect on inflammatory cytokines in tears. Methods A total of 104 patients with mild cataract admitted in Heji Hospital Affiliated to Changzhi Medical College from January 2016 to January 2017 were randomly divided into group A and group B, with 52 cases in each group. The patients in group A were treated with small incision phacoemulsification extracapsular cataract extraction, and the patients in group B were treated with phacomulsification. The tear break-up time(BUT), schirmer Ⅰ test(SIT), corneal endothelial cell density(CED), coefficient of variation(CV), interleukin-6(IL-6), tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) and interleukin-8(IL-8) of the two groups were observed. Results After the operation, the levels of BUT and SIT in group B were higher than those in group A, the levels of CED, IL-6, IL-8 and TNF -α were lower than those in group A, there were significant differences (P 0.05). Conclusions The effect of phacomulsification on mild cataract is significant, which can improve the inflammatory cytokines in tears, and has high application value. Key words: Cataract; Phacomulsification; Clinical effect; Inflammatory cytokines in tears
