Methods From February 2008 to September 2009, 98 cases of internal rectal mucosal prolapse were treated. In terms of different surgical techniques, patients were divided into two groups: Group A(n=52)received procedure for prolapse and hemorrhoids(PPH), and Group B(n=46)received laparoscopic rectopexy with Douglas pouch repair combined with procedure for PPH.Constipation level, postoperative effect, relapse and postoperative complications in the two groups were assessed respectively before surgery and one year, threeyears and five years after surgery year after surgery. Results Five years after operation, constipation didn’t become progressively worse in Group B. Total effective rate and the cases of recurrent among the two groups were statistically significant(P 0.05).
