Abstract

Objective To explore the clinical effect of induced labor by artificial rupture of membranes combined with COOK double balloon in full-term pregnant women and the effect of induced labor scheme on maternal and infant outcomes and delivery safety. Methods The study included 200 pregnant women waiting for delivery in our hospital from August 2015 to August 2018. The subjects all met the criteria of full-term pregnancy and were randomly divided into two groups with the consent of their families. The control group (n=104) and the research group (n=96) received induced labor by COOK double balloon, and the research group received artificial rupture of membranes after the balloon taken out. The delivery situation of the two groups was observed, the relevant indicators in the process of delivery were recorded, and the influence of different methods of induced labor on mothers and infants were evaluated. Results There was no statistically significant difference in the second stage of labor between the two groups, and the rest stage of labor of the research group was shorter than that of the control group (P<0.05). The statistics of vaginal delivery rate after delivery showed that the vaginal delivery rate of the research group was higher than that of the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P<0.05). There were complications in both groups, but the incidence of complications of the research group was lower than that of the control group (P<0.05). The neonatal outcomes of the research group were better than those of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusions The application of induced labor by artificial rupture of membranes after promoting cervical ripening by COOK double balloon can further shorten the delivery time of full-term pregnant women, helps the pregnant women to carry out vaginal delivery smoothly, and effectively reduces the related risks of childbirth, which is worthy of wide clinical application. Key words: Full-term pregnancy; Induced labor; Artificial rupture of membranes; COOK double balloon; Maternal and infant complications
