Abstract

Objective To evaluate clinical curative effect of bronchoscopy interventional therapy combined with 125I particle implantation on trachea adenoid cystic carcinoma (TACC). Methods The data of 19 patients with TACC receiving bronchoscopy interventional therapy combined with 125I particle implantation in China Meitan General Hospital from January 2010 to January 2016 were retrospectively analyzed. The symptoms, dyspnea index, trachea diameter and thickness of the trachea wall were compared before and after treatment. The complications were also analysed. Results The symptoms of all patients were improved after treatment. The dyspnea index decreased from 2.6±1.2 to 0.2±0.5, the trachea diameter increased significantly from (5.6±1.6) mm to (13.4±1.1) mm, and the thickness of the trachea wall decreased from (29.6±1.3) mm to (8.2±1.1) mm, there were statistical differences in above indexes (all P<0.05). The complications of particle implantation by bronchoscopy included hemoptysis, infection and particle translocation in one case respectively. The complications of particle implantation by CT guide included pneumothorax in two cases, hemoptysis and particle translocation in one case respectively. Conclusions Treatment with bronchoscopy interventional therapy combined with 125I particle implantation on TACC can improve the symptoms of the patients and inhibit tumor growth.
